Pavel Dimitrov Dimitrov

Born on September 4, 1998 in the city of Varna. He lives in the town of Aksakovo, where he studied from first to third grade. In the fall of 2008 was admitted to the National School of Arts "Dobri Hristov" - Varna, in the accordion class of Veselin Ivanov.

Already in kindergarten, he expressed a desire to play the accordion. From the age of three, he picked up the child's toy accordion, a gift from his grandfather, and successfully followed the rhythm of the bagpipe, listening with interest to how his father played. In October 2002, when he was barely 4 years old, he started his first accordion lessons with Ivan Nedelchev, who gave him a very stable foundation and after a very short time, Pavel started playing his first elementary melodies and songs. They played together for several years, after which, by coincidence, Pavel became a student of Yordan Kolarov, with whom he mainly consolidated the already achieved results. In 2008, he stopped private lessons and began his professional training at the art school in Varna. With ease and great desire he learns any new work, be it classical or from our folk folklore; makes timid attempts to compose.

During the years in which he was involved in music, Pavel took an active part in various concerts on a local and regional basis, he appeared in many competitions, from which he almost always returned with a prize.

In addition to being a wonderful musician, Pavel is also an outstanding dancer. From the age of 4, he attended the school of folk dances at the Aksakovo Dance Group with director G. Kolev. The ensemble has numerous appearances on local and regional soil, participates in many concerts. Every year he takes an active part in the Easter competition "Easter Tangle" in the city of Varna, where he always performs more than successfully.

At the beginning of 2010 Pavel made his first recordings on a disc, in which children and young people took part - folk talents-instrumentalists from the city of Varna. The disc includes both individual instrumental performances and performances of mixed formations. Pavel performs solo "Svatbarska ruchenitsa" and "Akandzhii Nadigravane" - both works by the composer Dimitar Stoykov. The promotion of the disc takes place on 12.04.2010 in the concert studio of Radio Varna, where most of the participants play live. There, Pavel receives special congratulations personally from Dimitar Stoykov for his wonderful performance and his talent.

In the middle of 2010, Pavel joined the folk singing group "Trakiya" - the town of Aksakovo at the "Prosveta" PN, where he provided musical accompaniment to their songs. He accompanies the group in almost all of its performances at concerts and gatherings at the regional and national level. In April 2011 the singing group, together with its youngest member, participate in a live broadcast on folk radio "Mentsi". On May 7, 2011 "Trakiya" group and Pavel were invited to participate in the SKAT television program "From Bulgarian, more Bulgarian". There he participated with the musical accompaniment of several songs and with an individual performance of Pravo horo.

Since 2012, Pavel regularly participates as an accompanist for his classmates from the folk singing classes in a large number of the competitions he takes part in. At the age of 14, he successfully performed as an animator during the summer months for foreign tourists, entertaining them with performances from our native folklore as well as classical and popular music. And for lovers of traditional wedding celebrations, the young man has a rich repertoire, which he also successfully presented several times in the summer of 2013.

In July 2013, he was awarded with a free visit to the accordion master class of Prof. Mie Miki, who was visiting the IMF in Varna. At the end of the training, the participants in the master class performed a concert program in front of prominent personalities of the Varna public. Pavel performed more than successfully, despite the fact that he was the smallest participant and the only representative of North-Eastern Bulgaria in this event. In December, he was chosen as a soloist in the annual concert for the patron holiday of the "D. Hristov" NUI. Only the best students of the school, approved after casting, participate in this concert, and the young man was the only representative of his specialty.

In the summer of 2014, Pavel continued to work as an animator-musician; during this period, his first professional performances as a dancer began, where together with his colleagues from the "Kolevi" dance school, he performed folk dance programs for Bulgarian and foreign tourists.

During the year, Pavel also has many concert appearances on the occasion of national and municipal holidays, organized by the municipality. Aksakovo and commune. Varna with the dance ensemble, as an accordion performer - soloist and as part of a youth instrumental formation; he also participated as an accompanist and soloist on the "Rakovina" stage in the Sea Garden of Varna, where during the summer months free concerts are held for the residents and guests of the city. In 2014, PG Trakiyka, of which he has been an accompanist since 2010, celebrated its 10-year anniversary with a concert entitled "Trakiya and Friends", which was covered by the program "From Bulgarian, More Bulgarian" on TV SKAT. Pavel took part, of course, in the jubilee concert on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the city of Aksakovo.

In 2015, PG "Trakiya" again participated in the program "From Bulgarian, more Bulgarian" on TV SKAT together with its accompanist.

During the summer months of 2014, 2015 and 2016, the young man also performed as a dancer-animator together with his colleagues from the dance group "Contrast", with whom they performed folklore performances for the tourists who visited our Black Sea coast.

Nightingale Orchestra

Since 2014, he has been a musician-performer in the orchestra. "Nightingale" - directs and organizes musical performances of a folk orchestra; participation in festivals and concerts at local and national level with the orchestra and as an individual performer, wedding programs, private celebrations. Repertoire – folk, classical, pop and jazz. During the summer months, Pavel also works as an animator in "Jeep Safari" in Golden Sands Club. In 2016, the orchestra was permanently active in the Ethnographic Complex "Kalimanski Khan", Kalimantsi village, region Varna. In 2019, he is a permanent performer in the tavern "Mamin Kolyo" in the city of Varna.

In the summer of 2017, he went to Glasgow, Scotland and in November of the same year he successfully passed the entrance exams at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, but for health and family reasons he returned to Bulgaria in 2018.

During his stay there he impressed the Bulgarians in Scotland at the opening of the Millennium Club Bulgaria in November 2017.

At the beginning of 2018, he made his first professional recording at Radio Varna. This was his prize from the competition for young performers of classical and popular music "Musical Pearls" - 2017, which is organized by the University of Humanities and Arts "Konstantin Preslavski" - Varna. Radio Varna was a media partner of the event, and the winners of the first places won the opportunity to make a sound recording.

"The piece is called 'New Beginning' and it is in the spirit of the Thracian instrumental style, but more modern. I decided to name it like that because I'm just starting to compose, at least I'm trying, it's a new beginning for me."

2020

  • Accordion World Cup - category World music – 22nd place in the list
  • 1st place - accordion, fourth age group, "The Sound of Time" – July 03-05, 2020, V.Tarnovo. Since 2017, Pavel has been working without a teacher. All the others in his group are students at the conservatory. At this competition, he appeared with an author's piece, and his first student, Kristiyan Yordanov, 8 years old from the city of Varna, also won 1st place and presented another author's piece to Pavel.
  • Laureate title - "Masters of the Accordion" competition, September 03-05, 2020, as part of folklore holidays "Pearl of the Sea" - solo performance with one author's piece. His student Kristiyan Yordanov from Varna, aged 9, also appeared at this competition, who presented two pieces written by Pavel and won the third place.
