The good leader

Whether you will be the only person in your company or you will also hire employees, having leadership qualities will benefit you in the business world and in life in general. First and foremost, a good leader ensures the safety of his subordinates. The sense of danger is a prerequisite for survival. The more relaxed we feel in a given situation, the more we relax and trust. The more rules, prohibitions and restrictions there are in a company, the more damaged the employees are and the less they feel a part of that company. When they feel safe, employees don't waste their energy protecting themselves from internal threats, but put that same energy into their work. A good leader does not limit his employees, does not impose dozens of prohibitions, on the contrary - he votes their trust and thus makes them sympathize with the common. At the same time, the leader must feel responsible for his people, as if they were part of his family. Because just as a leader has children, a spouse, parents, so each of his employees is someone's father, husband or son. Almost every company is based on numbers - norms, profits, losses, percentages... However, to be more successful, instead of numbers, it is better to concentrate on people. Some of the most successful companies are those whose leaders put people first, and this is definitely not at the expense of quality work.

A good manager knows how to make decisions. But to be really good, he must be able to listen to the opinions of others. Sometimes it is the employees who notice the important things at the bottom of the hierarchy and are able to offer creative ideas. The attitude towards the employee himself is also important. Criticizing them publicly is not the best solution. It is important to point out their mistakes, but not to constantly hint at them. Once we hire them, it is assumed that they are not stupid and realize themselves where they went wrong. Praise, on the other hand, has the opposite, positive result.

A good leader must be able to determine which of the tasks currently has the highest priority and direct his men to her first. And in order to be able to properly prioritize, he must be able to see several steps ahead in time how the actions will develop. By carefully planning risks, a leader can anticipate expected challenges and outline the parameters of a specific possible response. And if the team is prepared and understands what actions to take when possible problems arise, then they will act quickly when they arise. And this is a big prerequisite for success.

When a situation arises where priorities need to be set, several steps need to be followed. Naturally, the problem with the highest priority is determined first, i.e. the most important or the most complex. To determine this correctly requires a good and objective judgment of the situation on the part of the one who determines. Immediately after this, the leader should clarify clearly and unequivocally the purpose of the priority. The next step is for the manager to develop and define a solution, but not alone, but by seeking the assistance of the team if possible. It should direct the implementation of the decision, concentrating all efforts and resources on this task. When the problem is overcome, it moves on to the next obstacle in priority and is solved in the same way. And when team priorities change, the leader must inform everyone up and down the hierarchy. At the same time, the leader must be able to see other problems arise and make quick changes if necessary. Thus, at first glance, many and complex problems can be eliminated one by one successfully and without investing all resources.

A good leader does not manage by sitting at his desk all the time. Because nothing can replace live contact - either with employees or with customers. Through constant communication, the manager will always be aware of emerging problems and be able to solve them in time. A good leader, or rather a successful one, overcomes his ego and pride. He is able to conduct negotiations calmly, without aggression, he is ready to accept other people's ideas and admit that they are better than his own. Therefore, the main principle of a good manager is to have a good management team that shares and follows his principles and philosophy. Is it to be a good boy, working with quality people, having fun while working and running a small business? Or a malevolent wretch running a rich and successful company who is always on top, at all costs, trampling and crushing everything in his path? It is an individual choice of everyone.
